ADVISOR
In 2016, art consulting firm Simon Breitbard Fine Arts invited me to follow along as they delivered art to clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. That was the beginning of this series and I joined them off and on over the next four years through 2020. In the essay for the Advisor book, Shannon Jackson writes, “…love and money circulate and mix in expected and unexpected ways. Freeberg tells us that the homes in his photographs belong primarily to newly-minted millionaires from the Bay Area’s tech economy. These people are building new homes for new families - sometimes second homes, sometimes second families. Either way the homes need to be filled - with pools and landscaping, with appliances and furniture with new toys and new security cameras. And they need to be filled with art. The art advisor thus steps into this scene, providing a quick artistic education along with samples of different options and the promise of custom delivery.”
